The Gallery Positiiv was founded by the photo magazine Positiiv (Ltd. Meediarong) in April 2016. It aims to provide an innovative forum for contemporary and documentary photography, presenting works by professionals and amateur artists. At the Photographic Art Fair the gallery will present fine art photographers Vivian Ainsalu and Philip Solovjov.
Vivian Ainsalu (b. 1979) finds inspiration from the melancholy of Estonian nature, dark folklore creatures and old French photography masters. She has always been fascinated by the hidden treasures one bears inside and after years of specializing in wildlife photography, she has found her true calling in portraiture and fine art nude photography. The keywords of Vivian Ainsalu’s artwork are: vintage cameras, black and white, wildlife, natural light, portraiture.
Philip Solovjov (b. 1985) was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. He moved to Estonia to study Philosophy at the University of Tartu and Photography at Tartu Art College. Solovjov has worked on personal photographic projects in Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Portugal, India and Scotland. He strives to create photographs that comprise a sense of tranquility. He is using simplicity and serenity as a base of his compositions.
